So, I wanted to take a moment to write something that might help others in their quest for their own wonder pony, and to thank Joanne and the Avonmill team for finding us our own super star.
We came to Avonmill following a horse that had previously come from them and looked like a promising match. Though not involved in the sale in any way we were very impressed by the honest and helpful way in which we were able to discuss the mare in question from a neutral viewpoint. As it happens, the mare was sold before we got much further. So we thought it was back to the drawing board with our long list of requirements. However, having been so impressed by Joanne in the first instance we thought it was worth another phone call. Joanne was immensely helpful, discussing what we were truly looking for and teasing out the fine details -Understanding that we are not professionals and are interested in horses for the fun! One easy phone call later and we were looking at photos and videos of a prospective horse. The wonderful little mare we then went on to buy!! Joanne understands exactly what you are looking for and works to make sure that the pairing really is a match that will work. Our little mare stayed with Joanne a while before coming down to us to gain further schooling and positive experiences. Throughout the time she stayed we enjoyed receiving frequent video/photo and text updates which were a brilliant way of keeping in touch!! When she arrived we feel we have a support network in place that we've never had when buying any horse previously and also more importantly - our delightful mare is just as she was described!!! It might be helpful to point out at this point that we bought her without actually seeing her such was our confidence in Joanne and her team. We will continue to recommend Avonmill as THE place to source your next horse from...you won't be disappointed!!!

Alfie doing great! He's settled already! Being exercised for 20 mins twice a day and his flatwork has been lovely! He's been super brave and hacked on his own without putting a foot wrong despite all he noise, traffic and goings on at the hotel! He's been an absolute sweetheart in the stable and stands much stiller to groom already! The only downside is how greedy he is! He LOVES his food! Xx

Hi Joanne, Just to say that, although it's early days, I am very much enjoying Gina. Her temperament makes her the type of horse that is a joy from day one. She has settled in well and is kind to my girls.

I'm so happy with how he's progressing on schooling livery already, he's definitely in the best hands.   Thanks again!

I'm so pleased we have Nifty. She's such a diamond! Looking forward to getting both her and Amber out to their first competitions - we are just taking it slow though. Lots of lessons first!  I can't wait to see what they can achieve together.

She's an absolute angel, we just adore her! Running her at 80 for the rest of the year to get her more confident and work on her pace XC but will absolutely step up to 90 next year with ease. X

Pixie arrived home yesterday completely settled as usual.   Thank you for all of your help and Jane's over the last six weeks while she has been with you on schooling livery, and for keeping me up to date throughout.
